Which benefits derive from the relationship between museums and municipalities? How can the existing partnerships be enhanced? Do museums and local municipalities face the same challenges? Which mechanisms are required to make these relations more efficient? These are some of the questions which the White Paper on the “Relationship between Museums and Municipalities in Europe” sought to address. Prepared and written by Anne Krebs (Musée du Louvre) and Xavier Greffe (Université Paris I Sorbonne), this White Paper is the main outcome of the activities organized by the “Museums and Municipalities”, a European Policy Analysis Group initiated by ENCATC members in April 2010 and supported by the European Commission under the Culture Programme. Announcing the 11th Communicating the Museum Conference in Northern Europe
The 11th edition of the Communicating the Museum Conference will take place 6-8 July 2011 at the heart of Europe in Düsseldorf, Germany. We will spend three full days in the cultural quarter of Düsseldorf by the Rhine River, hosted by the Museum Kunst Palast; a unique pluridisciplinary art venue built in 1910 and a major player on the German art scene. Campaign for a European Industrial and technical Heritage Year
Recently E-FAITH, the European Federation of Associations of Industrial and Technical Heritage, launched a campaign to influence the the European authorities (European Commission and/or Council of Europe) to declare a European Industrial and Technical Heritage Year. E-FAITH wants this initiative to grow bottom-up, showing that there is a large interest in Europe for this kind of heritage. Læs mere
