The Kretinga Museum’s mission is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the the historic Tiškevičiai Manor complex and the traditional culture of our region.
In 2024, we became the most visited municipal museum in Lithuania, welcoming over 82,000 visitors. Our goal is to strengthen this position and continue expanding our audience.
We are currently preparing an application for the Public Administration Mobility Program for the Nordic and Baltic countries and are seeking partner museums in Denmark—state, municipal, or private—that would be willing to host a delegation of up to eight representatives from the Kretinga Museum in the autumn of 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed).
During our visit, we would love to learn about your institution’s operations, activities, technical capabilities, and visitor engagement strategies.
Specifically, we are interested in:
- Storage and technical infrastructure
- Exhibition technologies and design
- Strategies for attracting new visitors
- Solutions for seasonal visitor fluctuations
- Management of heritage-listed buildings and surrounding areas (parks, ponds, etc.)
- Sponsorship and fundraising programs
We believe this exchange could spark new international collaborations, fostering not only knowledge-sharing but also cultural initiatives. We are open to new ideas and hope this letter reaches partners who are equally eager to exchange experiences, expand networks, and explore potential joint projects.
